About Shiiba Village
Shiiba Village was established in 1889 through the merger of four villages: Fudono, Okochi, Matsuo and Shimofukura. Legends of fugitive Heike warriors are handed down here, and the village has Shiiba Kagura, an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan, and the Tsurutomi Yashiki (Nasu Family Residence). The village office is in Oaza Shimofukura, and moved to a new building in 2012.
